Notifications

Notifications keep you informed about important events in your building. You receive alerts for new requests, pending approvals, and other actions requiring your attention.

Viewing your notifications

  1. Click on the Bell icon (🔔) in the left navigation menu;

  2. A panel opens displaying all your notifications;

  3. The number shown on the icon indicates how many unread notifications you have.

Managing your notifications

In the notifications panel, you can:

  • View a notification: Click on a notification to go to the corresponding page;
  • Dismiss a notification: Click on the X on the right of a notification to dismiss it;
  • Dismiss all: Click the button at the top of the panel to dismiss all notifications at once;
  • Filter by building: When you are inside a building, an All / This building selector at the top of the panel restricts the list to the notifications of the current building.

Types of notifications

You can receive notifications for:

  • Transaction pending approval: A transaction requires your approval;
  • Transaction approval note changes: A note has been modified on a transaction pending approval;
  • Request emails: A new email has arrived in response to a request;
  • Emails unassociated with a request: An email was received but is not associated with an existing request;
  • Request comment added: Someone commented on a request;
  • Reservation pending approval: A reservation of a common area requires your approval;
  • Reservation comment added: Someone commented on a reservation;
  • Parcel comment added: Someone commented on a parcel;
  • Task assigned to you: A task has been assigned to you;
  • Task completed: A task you follow has been completed;
  • Maintenance task due soon: A recurring maintenance task is coming up;
  • New bid awaiting your vote: A supplier bid is waiting for your vote;
  • Bid approved: A supplier bid has been approved;
  • Added to a building: You have been added as a member of a building;
  • Added to a building group: You have been added as a member of a building group;
  • Added to a billing account: You have been added to a billing account;
  • Email delivery failure: An email you sent could not be delivered;
  • Unresolved email delivery failures (daily digest): A daily summary of outgoing emails that have not yet been delivered successfully;
  • Bank statement scan finished: The automatic reconciliation of a bank statement is done;
  • Otonom send failure: A payment file could not be sent to Otonom;
  • Product updates: A new AppNFlat feature is available;
  • Other: Messages sent to you directly by an administrator of your building.

Which of these you actually receive depends on your role: you are never notified about something you do not have access to.

Configuring your notification preferences

To customize how you receive your notifications:

  1. Go to your account page by clicking the entry showing your name in the left navigation menu;

  2. Click the Edit button to enable editing mode;

  3. Change the Alert method and the Received alert types fields;

  4. Click Save.

Choosing your alert method

Select how you want to receive your alerts:

  • Inactive: No notifications will be sent;
  • By email: You will receive an email for each notification;
  • By email and push notifications: You will receive both an email and a push notification for each notification;
  • By push notification: You will receive notifications directly in your browser (you will need to authorize notifications in your browser).

Selecting alert types

Once you have chosen an alert method other than Inactive, you can choose which types of notifications you want to receive:

  • All notifications: Receive all types of notifications;
  • Custom selection: Choose only the types of notifications that interest you from the drop down list.

Do not forget to click Save to record your preferences.

Push notifications in the browser

When the alert method is By push notification, a badge under the field shows the state of the current device:

Notifications not enabled on this deviceClick Enable and accept your browser’s permission prompt.
Notifications blocked by browser

You refused the permission. Re-allow notifications for AppNFlat in your browser settings.

This device needs to be re-registeredClick Re-register.

Use another browser, or install AppNFlat as an app.

Frequently asked questions

I’m not receiving notifications, what should I do?

Check that:

  • Your alert method is not set to “Inactive”
  • The types of notifications you want to receive are selected
  • If you are using push notifications, verify that you have authorized notifications in your browser
  • If you are using emails, check your spam folder

Can I receive both emails and push notifications?

Yes. Choose the By email and push notifications alert method to get both for every notification.

How long do notifications remain visible?

Notifications remain visible in the panel until you dismiss them by clicking the X or using the Dismiss all button.
